PhotoLab 10, DxO’s desktop RAW editor for Mac and Windows, shipped around 1 September 2026. It is still a photo-editing application in the PhotoLab line — not a camera or a lens — and the day-one conversation is about local adjustments that feel closer to a modern masking palette than to older U Point alone.
Depth Masks are the headline. PhotoLab builds an AI depth map so you can isolate a band of distance, feather the transition, and edit by perceived depth without needing embedded depth metadata from the camera. That is the feature PetaPixel and DxO’s own materials lead with.
AI Masks expand for people and fine facial detail — eyebrows, eyes / iris / pupil, sclera, teeth, facial hair, face skin, lips — on top of existing sky, subject, background, people, animals, flowers, and vehicles. U Point refinement still sits on those masks, and DxO adds Control Brush plus elliptical Control Points for more precise local work.
Color grading gets a single hue wheel that can target shadows, midtones, highlights, and global adjustments, with linkable ranges. Other named tools in the same release include Crop as Shot and automatic sensor dust removal at the RAW level. DeepPRIME and DeepPRIME XD3 continue in the line; we are not claiming a new DeepPRIME generation unless DxO’s own PhotoLab 10 materials say so.
Affinity round-trip is part of the workflow story. Press describes a seamless export path; forum threads already argue about an Affinity export control on specific macOS builds. DxO’s documented path points at Settings → Process Tab → Affinity when the control is present. Treat missing-button reports as user experiences, not a substitute for DxO’s own release notes. Some September coverage also notes improved Affinity handoff may land later in the month — note the variance.
