GoPro MISSION 1 PRO ILS ships — compact cinema body with a cold MFT mount

MISSION 1 PRO ILS is the third body in GoPro’s MISSION 1 Series: the same 50MP 1" sensor and GP3 processor as MISSION 1 PRO, but with a mechanical Micro Four Thirds mount so creators can pick macro, tele, or wide cinema glass and rig into tight spaces. GoPro’s press frames it for content creators and filmmakers who want that Mission 1 Pro image pipeline with lens choice — not as a waterproof dive cam or a Hero replacement. Sources do not say it replaces MISSION 1 PRO or the Hero line; those stay separate SKUs. The defining tradeoff is lens flexibility versus cold-mount limits (no e-contacts; manual focus / manual or fixed-fast aperture only) and weatherproof-only sealing, against the fixed-lens Pro’s simpler waterproof action use.

The mount story is the whole product. GoPro’s own endnote is clear: the body has no electronic contacts. Compatible MFT lenses need to cover a 1" or larger image circle, with manual focus and either a fixed aperture of f/4.5 or faster or a manual aperture. Glass that needs electronics for focus or aperture will not work — so this is not “the full MFT catalog,” whatever a retailer blurb says. Prefer GoPro’s wording over Filmtools-style “full range” claims.

It is also weatherproof, not waterproof. Fixed-lens Mission 1 / Mission 1 Pro stay the waterproof siblings; do not read Hero-style dive claims onto this SKU. Video claims from GoPro include up to 8K60 and 4K240, Open Gate modes, 10-bit GP-Log2, and 32-bit float audio to a separate WAV. HyperSmooth is on board for compatible rectilinear primes (GoPro’s notes list fisheye profiles for a short set of named lenses).
