OM System has put a new PEN on the calendar: an announcement expected 9 September 2026, following an official Japan tease (covered widely after a 26 August social teaser from @omsystem_jp). That date is all we are treating as firm. Body style, sensor, EVF, weather sealing, kit lens, and price are not confirmed here, and we will not invent a megapixel count to fill the silence.
PEN heritage is context, not a product claim. The name runs from the 1959 half-frame originals through the 2009 digital PEN revival and the digital PEN-F. That lineage explains why mu-43 forums lit up the moment the teaser appeared — but it does not mean the unannounced body is a PEN-F II, and we will not label it as one. Older E-P7 product shots are historical only; they are not this new body.
Forum EVF talk is discussion, not a specification. Threads on mu-43 and DPReview are already reading the teaser aesthetic and guessing at a finder. Rumor desks have floated names, sensor pairings, and a ~$1,000 kit price — those stay below the line as further discussion. Until retailers list a product, this page stays editorial: no SKU, no Buy block, no invented specs.
