About Aperture Notes

Aperture Notes covers camera, lens and photo gear news. That means new announcements, rumors, prices and first hands-on reviews, plus a few evergreen buying guides. Each brief links to the forum threads and comment sections where photographers are discussing the gear.

We pick launches, rumors and price changes that photographers are actively discussing. When something material changes, such as an official announcement after a rumor or a confirmed price and ship date, we publish a follow-up.

Specs and dates are checked against maker announcements and product pages and against established photo news sites. Each article lists its sources.

Prices are checked against the live retailer listing on the date shown in the article. Prices change, so treat them as a snapshot.

We don't invent specs or prices. When sources disagree, the article says so.

Rumors are labeled "(Rumor)" and stay labeled until the maker makes an announcement.
