Panasonic Lumix L10 review: a fixed-lens compact with a bright 24-75mm zoom

HIGHLIGHTS

Why it exists. The L10 is a fixed-lens premium compact: Panasonic introduced it as "a new fixed lens camera" (Panasonic release, May 12, 2026), and Cameralabs calls it "the long-awaited successor to the much-loved Lumix LX100 II" (Cameralabs). It pairs a 20.4MP 4/3-type sensor with a LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX 24-75mm (equivalent) F1.7-2.8 zoom.

Forum posters point to what is new compared with the LX100 II: phase-detect AF, an articulated screen and a Still/Video/S&Q switch, with the same 24-75mm-equivalent range.

Who should buy it? Someone who wants a single compact with a bright zoom and a larger sensor than a phone, and does not need interchangeable lenses.

The story

Panasonic North America announced the L10 on May 12, 2026, in Newark, N.J. The release lists no US price and no availability section, so we do not quote one here.

The sensor is a 20.4MP effective (26.5MP total) 4/3-type BSI CMOS chip used in multi-aspect mode, so 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9 keep the same angle of view. The camera weighs approx. 508 g with battery and card. It comes in Black and Silver, plus a Titanium Gold Special Edition marking 25 years of LUMIX that Panasonic says is "available through limited sales channels, primarily via the official Panasonic Store".

Owners and forum posters raise a few concerns: it is bigger and heavier than the LX100, it has no weather sealing, the zoom stops at 3x, dust ingress was a worry with the LX100, and the multi-aspect design uses only part of the 4/3 chip.
