Viltrox at IBC 2026: L-Mount Air primes + 35mm F1.4 Pro + APS-C F1.2 Pros

Official IBC 2026 showcase — not a rumor. Autofocus Air primes reach L-Mount. A full-frame 35mm F1.4 Pro and APS-C 18/1.2 and 40/1.2 Pros were shown beside them; those three mounts are not named in opened IBC press. Pricing and ship windows were not locked.

HIGHLIGHTS

Amsterdam’s IBC floor finally put names on the L-Mount Air set Lumix and Leica shooters have been waiting for: autofocus 14mm F4, 20mm F2.8, 40mm F2.5, and 50mm F2 — the same compact everyday focals that already live on E and Z, now with L on the barrel and L-Mount Alliance marks on the boxes. Beside them Viltrox showed a full-frame 35mm F1.4 Pro and a pair of APS-C F1.2 Pros at 18mm and 40mm — brighter options for events and tight indoor work.

This is less a single hero lens than a gap fill. L-mount has needed small primes that do not feel like afterthoughts; an Air 14 or 40 on an S9 is exactly the kit people were asking for in forum threads months before the booth opened. Pricing and ship windows were not locked in the press notes we opened, so the story for now is the lineup, not a street price.

Lineup on the floor

Opened press (PhotoRumors, The Phoblographer, OpticalLimits / XPR) names these lenses at IBC 2026 (Sep 11–14, Hall 11 Stand 11.A39, RAI Amsterdam). We are not using E/Z sibling shop cutouts as L-mount stand-ins, and we are not inventing MSRP or ship dates.

This does not replace existing E/Z Air SKUs or the already-shipping AF 16mm F1.8 L. A new high-power flash (unnamed) and the DC-X4 monitor were named in press — secondary to the glass, details thin.

Price and availability

Pricing and ship windows were not published in the opened official notes. L-Rumors’ earlier “preorders in a couple of weeks” is not an official lock.

Sample photos

N/A. No official output samples were found for these announced L-Mount Air SKUs. Viltrox L Air product pages were not live this pass. We are not substituting E-mount or Z-mount Air galleries as L-mount output.

Verdict

Pros

  • The Air 14 / 20 / 40 / 50 focals Lumix threads were asking for now exist as L-Mount AF primes
  • A 35/1.4 Pro plus APS-C 18/1.2 and 40/1.2 Pros fill brighter indoor / event gaps — if mounts lock as expected

Cons

  • Pricing and ship windows not locked
  • Pro 35 and APS-C F1.2 mounts TBD in IBC press; no verified L-mount sample set yet
