HIGHLIGHTS

Why it exists. FUJIFILM North America's release quotes Victor Ha, Vice President: "Imaging professionals rely on FUJIFILM GFX System cameras and lenses to take their best images to another level." Fujifilm pairs a new GFX 102MP CMOS II HS sensor with X-Processor 5, 8-stop IBIS, 8 fps bursts, 8K/30p video and recording to CFexpress or an external SSD.

Fujifilm launched the GFX100 II in September 2023 at $7,499.95 body-only. The 102MP CMOS II HS sensor has ISO 80 as base, 8 stops of IBIS and an 8 fps mechanical burst. The detachable 9.44M-dot finder runs at 1.00×, and video reaches 8K/30p with ProRes to CFexpress or an SSD. The trade-offs are weight (about 1 kg with the finder), price, and the 1/4000 s mechanical shutter ceiling.

Our gallery comes from three photographers: four insects shot with the GF500mm; Anderson's Mill in Victoria; and the KT Marina towers. Who should buy it? Studio, landscape and commercial photographers who need medium-format files with handheld flexibility. On FredMiranda, a landscape shooter coming from the GFX100S asks whether the image quality improves, so the upgrade case rests on handling, AF and the finder; owners' threads share images and stills experience.
