HIGHLIGHTS

Fujifilm announced the GFX100RF on March 20, 2025 as the first fixed-lens camera in its GFX system, at $4,899.95. It puts a 102MP 43.8 × 32.9 mm sensor and X-Processor 5 behind a new FUJINON 35mm f/4 lens, a 28mm equivalent, with a leaf shutter and a built-in 4-stop ND filter. At about 735 g with battery and card, Fujifilm calls it the lightest GFX model yet.

Why it exists. The GFX100RF takes medium-format resolution out of the interchangeable-lens bag and into a fixed-lens street and travel camera. Fujifilm says the leaf shutter let it shorten the back focus distance, and it built the top plate from a single block of aluminum. A rear Aspect Ratio Dial switches between nine formats, including the new 3:4 and 17:6, and a front lever steps through digital teleconverter crops equivalent to 36, 50 and 63mm. Fujifilm lists no in-body stabilization, only digital IS for movies, and video tops out at 4K/30p.

Our gallery comes from four photographers, all at the fixed 28mm-equivalent view: a martini in low light, storm light over a mountain valley and a snow-capped peak above a gravel road (both in-camera black and white), Georgian doorways on Dublin's Bethesda Place, a black-and-white view of Prophetstown State Park and Limerick's Thomond Park stadium from the street.

The story

FUJIFILM North America announced the GFX100RF on March 20, 2025, saying it was expected to be available in late April 2025 at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $4,899.95 USD (FUJIFILM North America).

The built-in ND filter is a first for GFX, and the lens focuses to about 20 cm from its front.

It is a current model: Fujifilm's US spec page is live (Fujifilm).
