HIGHLIGHTS

FUJIFILM North America announced the X100VI on February 20, 2024 as the sixth X100, at $1,599.95. It keeps the X100V's FUJINON 23mm F2 lens (35mm equivalent, 8 elements in 6 groups, built-in 4-stop ND), the hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder and the tilting 1.62M-dot touchscreen. What changed is inside: a 40.2-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor with X-Processor 5, native ISO 125, and 20 Film Simulation modes.

It's the first X100 with in-body stabilization: a 5-axis sensor-shift system Fujifilm rates at up to 6.0 stops. Subject detection covers animals, birds, cars, motorcycles and bikes, airplanes and trains, and video now reaches 6.2K at up to 29.97p and 4K at up to 59.94p, recorded internally in 10-bit 4:2:2 H.265. The trade-offs are small: Fujifilm lists 521 g with battery and card, and the NP-W126S is rated for about 450 shots with the OVF or 310 with the EVF (CIPA, Normal mode). Weather resistance still needs the optional AR-X100 adapter ring and PRF-49 filter.

Our gallery comes from four photographers: a fountain on a golf course pond in Sokolov, a passageway at City Thameslink in London, early-evening buildings in Walla Walla, Washington, Balham's Underground platform, a timber-clad hotel in Sokolov and a Walla Walla street at dusk. If you don't need stabilization or 40MP, the previous X100V shares the lens and viewfinder.
