Canon EOS R8 Mark II (Rumor): mid-September talk, IBIS, around $1,800
Canon has not announced this camera. Everything below is rumor and is labeled as such.
Rumor page, published September 3, 2026, before Canon announced the camera. The product image is Canon’s official image from the September 16 announcement; see our official coverage.
HIGHLIGHTS
Canon has not announced an EOS R8 Mark II. There is no official spec sheet on this page, and we will not invent a Mark II body to photograph.
What the rumor mill is saying, labeled as unverified: around 15 September 2026, in-body stabilization (IBIS) on the small full-frame body, and a price in the neighborhood of $1,800.
Earlier chatter about 32.5 megapixels and dual SD cards has been walked back. Treat every one of those numbers as rumor until Canon publishes.
The photo above was added after Canon’s September 16 announcement; it is not evidence for any of the rumors on this page. We are not building a fake specifications table for a camera that has not been shown. When Canon publishes, this page should be rewritten from that release.
Price / availability (rumored). Around $1,800 and a mid-September window, per Canon Rumors as relayed in coverage. Not confirmed.
Verdict
Pros
- If IBIS lands on an R8-class body, that is the feature people are actually waiting on
- Rumored ~$1,800 keeps it in enthusiast range — if the number survives
Cons
- Canon is silent; resolution and card-slot rumors have already flipped
- No SKU at the time of the rumor
