HIGHLIGHTS
Why it exists. FUJIFILM North America introduced the X-H2S as "the most advanced X Series mirrorless camera yet", built around the 26.16MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HS stacked sensor and X-Processor 5 for stills and video shooters who need speed: 40 fps blackout-free electronic bursts, subject-detection autofocus, 6.2K/30p video and internal Apple ProRes recording.
Fujifilm announced the X-H2S on May 31, 2022 at $2,499.95 body-only. The stacked sensor reads out fast enough for 40 fps electronic bursts with pre-shot, and electronic shutter speeds to 1/32000 s. Subject detection covers animals, birds, automobiles, motorcycles and bikes, airplanes and trains, with phase-detect AF down to −7.0 EV. IBIS is rated at 7.0 stops, and video runs to 6.2K/30p and 4K/120p with internal ProRes 422 HQ to a CFexpress Type B card.
Our gallery comes from three photographers: a Mount Tabor oak acorn at 300mm, amphitheatre steps in hard light, Agios Romanos beach on Tinos, cherry blossoms with dew drops, cherry trees in full flower and a woodland stream near Seffent at ISO 2000. Who should buy it? Wildlife, sports and video shooters who want APS-C reach and speed. Its limits: 26MP against the 40MP X-H2, and about 660 g with battery and card. Owners on FredMiranda tie its AF reliability to firmware; one setup guide says firmware 7.1 restored reliable focus for stills.
Fujifilm's US specifications page lists the full figures, including 40 fps electronic bursts, 7.0-stop IBIS and the NP-W235 battery ratings (Fujifilm specifications).
