Fujifilm X-T50 vs X-T5

Two dial-led APS-C bodies with the same 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, X-Processor 5, 5-axis stabilization rated up to 7.0 stops, stills and movie ISO ranges, and 6.2K/30p and 4K/60p video with F-Log2. The 2024 X-T50 is the everyday body: about 438 g, a dedicated Film Simulation dial and a pop-up flash. The 2022 X-T5 is the field body: two SD slots, a 1/8000 s mechanical shutter, 15 fps mechanical bursts, a 3.69M-dot 0.80x finder, weather resistance and nearly twice the CIPA shots per charge.

Who should buy which

Buy the X-T50 if…

  • You want the smaller, lighter body: about 438 g with battery and card against 557 g.
  • You like choosing a look by dial: the dedicated Film Simulation dial with 20 modes.
  • You want a pop-up flash for fill light.

Buy the X-T5 if…

  • You shoot outdoors in bad weather: Fujifilm lists 56 sealed points and operation to −10°C.
  • You want backup recording: two SD slots.
  • You shoot long days or action: about 580 frames per charge (CIPA, Normal), a 1/8000 s mechanical shutter and 15 fps mechanical bursts.

Same sensor, processor, stabilization and video, so the choice is a smaller body with a Film Simulation dial and flash against dual slots, sealing, a 3.69M-dot 0.80x finder and a bigger battery. Battery figures are Fujifilm's CIPA numbers in Normal mode on both sides. See our full X-T50 and X-T5 guides, or all comparisons.
