Fujifilm X-T4: still worth it in 2026?

Fujifilm's 2020 hybrid X-T body, now discontinued. Launched at $1,699.95 in 2020, body only. Still worth it in 2026: yes, if IBIS matters more to you than megapixels.

HIGHLIGHTS

The X-T4 took the X-T3's 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor 4 and fixed the complaint that followed it everywhere: it adds 5-axis in-body stabilization rated up to 6.5 stops (CIPA). It also brings a much larger NP-W235 battery rated for about 500 frames (600 in Economy mode), a 1.62M-dot touchscreen and a faster mechanical shutter at about 15 fps.

It's a more serious video camera too, with Full HD at up to 240p, digital stabilization and IS Mode Boost for movies, and 18 Film Simulations, adding CLASSIC Neg. and ETERNA BLEACH BYPASS. The costs are weight and the headphone jack: it weighs about 607 g with battery and card, versus 539 g for the X-T3, and headphones connect through the supplied USB-C adapter.

Our gallery comes from six photographers: cherry blossoms in spring, a lakeside store in Wisconsin, the ruins at Palenque, Positano, a modernist church interior in Pisa and the X-37B spaceplane at night. Still worth it in 2026? For travelers and hybrid shooters who value IBIS over megapixels, yes.

The story

Fujifilm announced the X-T4 on February 26, 2020 at $1,699.95 body-only (Fujifilm USA).

It kept the X-T3's sensor and processor and added in-body stabilization, a bigger battery and faster mechanical bursts. The 40MP X-T5 followed in 2022, and Fujifilm USA now lists the X-T4 as discontinued.
