Fujifilm X-T4 vs X-T5: which to buy?
Two generations of Fujifilm's dial-led X-T body. The X-T5 moves to a 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and X-Processor 5, adds subject-detection AF, 7-stop IBIS, 6.2K video and a longer-lasting battery in a lighter body; the X-T4 keeps faster 30 fps cropped bursts and a vari-angle screen.

Who should buy which
Buy the X-T4 if…
- You shoot action and want faster cropped bursts: about 30 fps electronic (1.25x crop).
- 26MP files are enough, with IBIS rated up to 6.5 stops and a vari-angle screen.
- You want smaller files that are quicker to store and edit.
Buy the X-T5 if…
- You shoot landscape, travel or studio stills and want 40.2MP.
- You want subject-detection AF for animals, birds, vehicles, airplanes and trains.
- You want 7-stop IBIS, about 580 frames per charge and a lighter body (557 g vs 607 g).
- You want 6.2K/30p internal video and the NOSTALGIC Neg. Film Simulation.
Both bodies use the same NP-W235 battery and two SD slots and keep Fujifilm's top-plate dials, so the choice is mostly resolution, autofocus, bursts and the screen. See our full X-T4 review and X-T5 guide, the X-T3 vs X-T4 comparison, or all comparisons.
